Family & Youth Services

Raystown Developmental Services Family Services Division is committed to the enhancement of children's lives through the development of strong healthy families.
Family Preservation and Reunification Program
The Family Preservation and Reunification Program works with families referred through Huntingdon County Children's Services. The purpose of this program is to prevent out-of-home placement of children or to reunify children already in foster care with their families of origin. We are dedicated to successfully protecting and reuniting families while reducing the risk of child abuse and neglect.
Proud To Be a Parent Program
The Proud To Be a Parent Program is a parent education class offered to families through referrals from an outside agency such as Huntingdon County Children's Services, or as a private pay client. Classes are held in a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere and are aimed at helping biological, adoptive, foster or grandparents become more successful in their goals as a full-time caregiver to the children in their homes.
Supervised Visitation Service
The Supervised Visitation service exists to accommodate court-ordered visits with a non-custodial parent. This service provides a safe environment and advocacy for the child's needs. The office at Raystown Developmental Services provides a comfortable room for visitation. Visits are monitored by trained staff whose goal is to insure the safety and well being of the child.
